As for weight, I have a Smoke composites handguard on mine (12") and I love it. As you noted it is a big weight reduction and that reduction is on the FRONT of the gun. Handguard was as heavy as the stock barrel nut, so i removed like 11 ozs from the front of the gun. Stock is very adjustable and feels great against the shoulder. The only issue I have - which is different in the Faxon and Smoke Composites - is there are just thin holes in the carbon fiber with little bolts holding it to the metal mounting ring.
